While we thought we would have to be bundled up for Elly + Jaron’s session the first week of October, it was actually very warm. 70 degrees, and the roses at Kansas City’s Loose Park were still in bloom!
Jaron and I met while we were both in graduate school, him for physical therapy, and me for medicine. We had several mutual friends that set us up. Ever since we met, we were inseparable. We would go on study dates, go hiking in Palo Duro Canyon, and spend our days laughing together.
Jaron and I had planned a trip to Chicago to celebrate us moving in together in Kansas City. The first day of our trip we spent sightseeing and exploring Chicago’s restaurants and bars. The day we got engaged, we went to lunch and then for a walk down the Chicago River. At the Fork of the river, there is a large green space next to a beautiful skyscraper. Jaron asked me to stand by the railing overlooking the river in the Chicago skyline so he could take a picture of me. When I turned around, he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. One of his friends was nearby to capture the moment on camera and toast us with celebratory champagne. we walked around town and took pictures and then celebrated with a nice dinner. We were in bliss all day together.
I love that Jaron is infectiously kind, extraordinarily giving, and wildly adventurous.
Jaron loves that I am radiating with compassion, dedicated to helping others through her intellect, and is stunning in every situation.
First and foremost, Jaron and I enjoy laughing together. We like to explore The world around us by adventuring to new places as well as our local community. We like to spend time with friends with game night, book clubs, and going out to eat and drink together. We enjoy staying active by walking, running, and exercising in the gym. We also like to stay in together to play chess, drink wine, and cook together.
We have heard from our friends that as a couple, we are even better than our individual selves. We have been told that the spark between us is tangible, that they can see how we love and respect each other without us saying that in words. I also believe that we are unique because we have gone through two years of long-distance together which has made us stronger and able to work through difficult situations together.
